EV CHARGING
When looking for the best home EV charger, you will find two different types of units:
- Tethered
- Socketed
A tethered unit comes supplied with a cable attached to the charger.
A socketed unit provides a universal socket within the unit, but it will require an additional cable which is compatible with your vehicle.
Our faster charging systems mean you can get more energy into your car during off-peak electricity price periods. Charging slower on a three-pin charger could mean that some of your charging might fall outside of the off-peak hours and into the peak hours. Prices during peak hours could be as much as 4 or 5 times the price per unit of electricity.
Working with our intelligent BESS systems our smart charge points will learn when your off-peak periods begin and end and will automatically draw energy from the grid during these hours, this is typically overnight, cutting the average domestic home bills by hundreds of pounds.
As the cost of living increases dramatically, many of our domestic customers are attracted to the possibility of earning an extra income stream. Installing our smart EV charging system along with one of our intelligent BESS systems gives our clients two income options:
- Renting out the charger when it’s not being used. The software and easy-to-use apps let other EV drivers know when your charger is available.
- Exporting unused battery power from your vehicle to sell back to the grid at peak times and recharging your vehicle during off-peak cheaper times or via alternative energy sources like solar.
Short term this helps to earn back the cost of the smart charger system and long term generates a profit, also helping the problem caused by EV range anxiety and supporting the quest for zero-emission cars.
