Frequently Asked Questions

Energy concepts is at the forefront of commercial, residential and national infrastructure green energy solutions. We’ve put together a list of the most frequently asked questions to help you understand the benefits and how it works when you decide to go green.

It is estimated that businesses waste around 20% of the energy they purchase, this is a damming statistic for businesses and the environment.  Demand management is an easy and cost-effective way to stop this wastage.  Our cutting-edge software EC Omni does all the work for you by providing in depth live reports.  EC can then translate these reports into immediate energy savings.

This means that you do not use any energy from the grid for the running of your business, all of you KWhs are produced from renewable assets via either onsite generation, or via a Virtual PPA (virtual Power Purchase Agreement)

We need power and electricity as part of our everyday lives, the only way to provide this without further contributing to the climate crisis is to generate it through cleaner, more sustainable sources such as wind power, solar panels, hydroelectricity, and other forms of renewable power.  In the current climate the risk of blackouts is real, by investing in your own power generation you are securing your businesses ability to continue operation if the worst happens.

Renewable energy is pivotal to creating a more sustainable future for our planet. Not only does it help to conserve our natural resources, but clean renewable green energy also significantly reduces the greenhouse gases that so heavily pollute our atmosphere.

There are five main types of renewable energy:

  • Wind power
  • Solar power
  • Geothermal power
  • Hydroelectric power
  • Biomass power

Renewable energy minimises carbon pollution and has a much lower impact on our environment and our planet.

For decades we have relied on coal and oil to power our buildings, and petrol and diesel to power our vehicles. When fossil fuels such as these are burned, huge amounts of carbon dioxide are released into the air. This greenhouse gas traps heat in our atmosphere, causing extreme weather conditions.

Renewable energy resources such as solar and wind do not release greenhouse gases and are much cleaner and better for the earth’s atmosphere.

It depends on the circumstances, wants, needs and location of each individual user or business.

For instance, if you are located by the coast in cooler, less sunny climates, wind turbines could be the most viable option in terms of generating the most power. This is why offshore wind farms have become such a success.

On the other hand, if you are located in sunnier, warmer climates with less wind, solar panels could be the best option.

There is a lot to consider when answering this question.  When you work with EC, we will answer all these questions for you, using our expert engineers we can provide you with advice on how to maximise renewable production on your assets.

Renewable energy works by generating power through natural resources, for example heat via solar panels, kinetic via wind turbines. Renewable energy sources include:

  • Wind power
  • Solar power
  • Geothermal power
  • Hydroelectric power
